The fourth Charity Heart Run was a great success. It was held last Saturday, with over 3,000 participants. This charity event was organized by the Spanish Heart Foundation and the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC), with the purpose of promoting a healthier life style and raising funds for research into cardiovascular disease.
Inés Sastre, FREDERIQUE CONSTANT’s dedicated female ambassador, was nominated to launch this fourth race. She took part in the children’s race and was assigned to draw the prize ticket for the participant who would win a FREDERIQUE CONSTANT watch. She declared that ″this sort of initiative raises awareness of the need to lead a healthy life style to avoid cardiovascular disease. Many women, unfortunately, are affected by such diseases, we ought to therefore have regular check-ups and ask to have an electrocardiogram, something which is not usually offered. ″
As part of Heart Week, the Charity Heart Run aims to encourage the pursuit of healthier life styles and, in particular, regular sporting activity. This is why the event included races for different participant ages and sporting activity levels (10 km race, 4.5 km walk and a children’s race).
The Swiss watch making brand, Frédérique Constant has been involved in cardiovascular disease charity work since 2009, and, along with its female ambassador, Inés Sastre, is honored to support the World Heart Federation and local organizations, such as the Spanish Society of Cardiology, by taking part in the international Hearts of Children awareness-raising campaign. This campaign targets women and children specifically, since these are the most vulnerable groups. As part of this collaboration, Frédérique Constant launched its Ladies World Heart Federation Automatic collection, on top of the 50,000 dollars donated in September 2012 for World Heart Day organized by the World Heart Federation. This collection comprises a series of four models featuring a Double Heart Beat aperture that reveals the “beating heart” of the movement.
